We had long wanted to visit Pushkar again, this time to experience the famous Camel Fair. At last, we managed to schedule a visit in 2010. Despite it being famous as a “tourist” attraction, it lived up to our expectations

About Me

• Over four decades I've traveled in India six times with my wife Sandra, each journey for one to two months.
• The travels had several purposes -- background research for the tales in my historical novels; getting to know local people and learning about their lives; gaining a better understanding of the culture (especially the religions, arts, and architecture); and enjoying the experiences of a subcontinent that is varied, often colorful, and frequently surprising.
• Each time we returned to India, there were obvious changes from prior trips, as might be expected in a region with a rapidly growing population, an accelerating prosperity, and ever busier cities, towns, and even villages.
• I took thousands of photographs in the form of color transparencies (slides), shifting to digital images on the final trips.
• I hope you'll find the range of photos from different decades enjoyable and interesting.
• And I hope you'll enjoy reading my historical novels, as have so many other readers! I can be contacted at:
